Five elements
Ramulus Mori belongs to wood in the Five Elements, conforming to the characteristic of “wood being curved and straight”. It enters the Liver Meridian to nourish tendons and vessels. Growing on the upper part of mulberry trees and with a light texture, it belongs to yang, has the nature of ascending and dispersing, and can dispel wind pathogens.

I Ching
The flexibility of Ramulus Mori matches the Xun Gua (☴) in I Ching, being soft yet unbreakable. Its sprouting in spring corresponds to the emergence of yang lines in Zhen Gua. Its upward extension echoes the vitality of Zhen Gua, making it a dynamic carrier of life.

Geomancy
In feng shui, mulberry trees are yin wood, which can protect the house from evil spirits and safeguard the family’s safety. Since mulberry leaves are beneficial for silkworm rearing and silk production, there is a folk saying “planting mulberries in front of the door makes one the richest in the area”, implying the feng shui meaning of attracting wealth.
